A Caring COMMUNITY
LOVE TO GIVE NEWSLETTER – JUNE 2021
“The abuse of women remains a shaming feature of our country. But this is accompanied by a slow violence of poverty and malnutrition of our children. A violence that is hidden, lasting and as devastating as the bruises of gender-based violence.“ – Dr. Chantal Witten, Daily Maverick,
15 February 2021
Every day at Love to Give, we address the “slow violence of poverty and malnutrition” in a variety of ways – school feeding, family food parcels, skills training, vegetable gardening, CV writing, mentoring and assistance with small businesses. Our support groups and programmes empower women to take a stand against abuse and move to independence. We are proud of what we have achieved over the last 12 months in Kayamandi but there is so much more we could do.
The ongoing effects of Covid on families is deeply concerning.

Food security and hunger is an increasing problem and ongoing job losses have put additional financial strain on families. Those who do still have jobs are having to support more and more extended family members.

Love to Give’s motto is
“A CARING COMMUNITY”
Our donor community is our life-line and reason we exist. We have the support of the most amazing group of people, and it is hard to thank each of you adequately. Some of our donors have generously stepped up their contributions, which has enabled us to fill some gaps in the ever-increasing COVID-impacted needs of the community.

If you are able to, we ask that you don’t give up but continue to support Love to Give as we work with these families, and especially the children, giving them food, counselling, training and support. The difference we are making in their lives is crucial and has long-term consequences.

When you donate to us, we issue a Donation’s Receipt and Section 18A certificate, which can be used for tax purposes in South Africa. We also have the equivalent status of a U.S. charity with all the associated benefits to donors that they receive in the U.S.
